Ewing Buchan’s version of the National Anthem ''O Canada'' was considered for the Diamond Jubilee of Confederation in 1927 and was one of the first English versions of the national anthem, written in 1908 from a house at 1114 Barclay Street in Vancouver’s West End (now a bed & breakfast). He wrote it in the parlour, accompanied by his daughter on piano.
